What It Takes—The Campaign for Montana State University was the first comprehensive fundraising campaign undertaken in the university’s 125-year history. The goal of the campaign at its outset was $300 million, an amount that would eclipse any previous fundraising endeavor undertaken in the state of Montana. To complete the campaign at $413MM—a full 138% of that original goal—is unprecedented.

The goals and priorities of the campaign were tied to the university’s strategic plan, and each unit and college within the university set targets guided by the three pillars of the campaign—people, places and programs. Fueled by generous and committed alumni and friends, a world-class faculty and research enterprise, and an administration with a vision to propel MSU into its next 125 years, the ambitious campaign and the results it brought are unprecedented in Montana State University’s history. The numbers speak for themselves:

Campaign Began July 1, 2010 • Campaign Ended December 31, 2018
